Srishti Ojha

Founding Partner

Srishti graduated from NLSIU, Bangalore in 2002 and was awarded a gold medal for international  law and has obtained a LL.M. from New York University in 2003 where she was the graduate editor  of the NYU Journal of International Law and Politics.

Srishti was included in Acritas Stars – independently rated lawyer by Acritas Stars (part of Thomson Reuters) in 2021 and is enlisted in the Forbes Legal Powerlist.

Srishti founded Verist Law in 2014.

She increasingly focuses on overall regulatory advisory and legal strategy on complex dispute situations relating to shareholders, counterparties, and regulators.

Her notable representations at Verist Law include:

Competition law: 

Ingenico (a global payments platform), Ambuja Cement, and Schindler. 

Data privacy: 

Grab (a leading Singapore-based “superapp”) and DJO Global(a US-based medical devices company). 

Securities laws: 

Underwriters i.e. Yes Securities, Elara Capital, and IDBI Capital in the Rs. 630 crore IPO of Rail  Vikas Nigam Limited (a project-executing agency of the Ministry of Railways). 

ICICI Securities (investment banker) and Akzo Nobel India Limited (a listed Indian affiliate of a  Dutch company) on a Rs. 235 crore buyback.  

ICICI Securities (investment banker) and Marathon Nextgen Realty (a major listed company in the real estate sector) on a Rs. 150 crore buyback. 

Borosil Glass Works Limited and Ambit Corporate Finance Private Limited (investment manager)  in the buyback of its shares through the tender offer route. 

Selling shareholders in connection with the IPO by an offer of sale of Galaxy Surfactants.

Sudha Muddaiah

Partner

Sudha Muddaiah is a 2003 graduate from University Law College, Bangalore, and holds a Bachelor of  Civil Law (BCL) degree from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom (2004). Sudha has over 15 years of experience in capital markets, project financing, banking & finance, general corporate matters.  Prior to joining us, she has worked with Reliance Industries Limited, Crawford Bayley & Co., Luthra  & Luthra Law Offices, and Link Legal India Law Services.

Issuance of Rs. 100 Crores, Series II listed, secured, commercial mortgage backed securities non-convertible debentures by Class Mall Development Company Private Limited (a group company of Phoenix Mills). 

Issuance of Rs. 50 crores, listed, secured non-convertible debentures by Vistaar Financial  Services Private Limited, a non-banking financial company to Bank of Baroda 

Issuance of Rs. 50 crores, listed and secured non-convertible debentures by Madura  Microfinance Limited, a non-banking financial company to State Bank of India. 

Issuance of Rs. 50 crores, listed and secured non-convertible debentures by IKF Finance  Private Limited, a non-banking financial company to Bank of India (2020). 

Issuance of Rs. 25 crores, listed and secured non-convertible debentures by Five-Star Business  Finance Limited, a non-banking financial company to Bank of Maharashtra (2020). 

Issuance of several hundred crores of unlisted debentures (listed and unlisted) by several NBFCs including Northern Arc. 

Securitizations by direct debt assignment and PTCs. 

Fund formations including Unicorn India Ventures Debt Fund- I, an AIF Category II fund.

Shriyani Datta

Partner

Shriyani graduated from NUJS, Kolkata in 2014. Prior to Verist Law, Shriyani was senior associate at AZB & Partners. Shriyani holds an International Certificate in Business Finance from Columbia Business School.

Shriyani focuses on mergers and acquisitions and advises companies on legal aspects and related documentation and negotiations of buy-outs, aqui-hirings and business transfers.

Shriyani’s notable representations at Verist Law include:

Razorpay (a unicorn in fintech space) on its various acquisitions of companies.

Porter (Smartshift Logistics), a Sequoia-portfolio company, in a fleet-related financing.

Satya Microfinance in a Rs. 150 crore investment by Japan-based Gojo Capital.

Shriyani’s prior roles include representing a global food-tech company in its Indian joint venture and large private equity funds in their various investments in India.

Tanvi Arora

Senior Associate

Tanvi graduated from New Law College, Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune in 2016.

Prior to Verist Law, Tanvi was a senior associate at Khaitan & Co.

In her prior role, Tanvi has represented several prominent funds and strategic investors in domestic and cross-border M&A.

Aanchal Shah Siroya

Aanchal graduated from K.C. Law in 2016.

Aanchal joined Verist Law in June 2020. Prior to Verist Law, Aanchal was at Cyril Amarchand where she has represented several prominent funds, both Indian and global, in equity financings and exits.

Akash graduated from NLSIU, Bangalore in 2019 following which he joined Verist Law as an associate.

SugarBox (Margo Networks, a Zee subsidiary) in commercial contracts. 

Rotomotive Powerdrives India Limited in its acquisition-related bid submission for the corporate insolvency resolution process of Cyclo Transmission Limited (ongoing). 

Porter (Smartshift Logistics) in its equity financing of Rs. 140 crores by Lightstone Global Fund which is linked to the Soros Economic Development Fund (2020). 

Satya Microcapital on its Rs. 150 crore equity capital infusion from Gojo & Company, a Japan based investor (2020). 

Mobile Premier League (Galactus Funware Technology) on the structuring of payment system product vis-a-vis Payment and Settlement Systems Act of 2007 and the regulations thereunder (2020). 

Bestselling author Amish Tripathi (of the Meluha series) on copyright aspects of the book  “Raavan: Enemy of Aryavarta‟ (2019). 

Akash has also advised SafexPay, Grab, Startup-O, Ingenico ePayments, and Schindler.

Akshay Madan

Akshay graduated from the Institute of Law, Nirma University in 2018. Prior to Verist Law, Akshay was an associate at V Law Partners. 

Akshay’s key representations at Verist Law include: 

Advising the subscriber of a private placement of a USD 1 billion MTN programme.

SafexPay (a fintech company) in complex documentation addressing fintech regulations (2021). 

In his previous role, Akshay has advised the founder of a well-known major manufacturer of cold-pressed juices, in a 100% buyout by another company.
